BREEDING SCHEDULE

CEDAR GREEN MIDNIGHT BLUE X CURL CREEK GOLDEN LEIF

DUE December 26th, 2022. 2nd freshener. Blue Eyes Possible.

Midnight Blue, or Blue, as we call her, is a Jim Beam daughter who freshened nicely last season, (as Jim’s daughters routinely do), with a high, nicely attached udder, good teat placement and good teat size. Her capacity was solid for a ff and thus she earned her spot in our herd. Blue has blue eyes and a long, level body. She is a friendly doe who is easy to milk with wide orifices. She kidded triplets easily and quickly as a first freshener. Blue was bred to Curl Creek Golden Leif. I am excited with this breeding. Leif’s dam is Curl Creek Razzle Dazzle 2*M EX90. She’s a stunning doe with high capacity, long, level body and lovely teat placement and size. Learn more about her here. Leif’s sire is Little Miss B Haven Golden Ticket. His genetics add length, width of chest, excellent attachments and high production. Learn more about him here. Doeling retained. Kids will be $900.

ROSEMARY is a daughter to Cedar Green Meadow Rose, our top doe to date. Rose produced 1.5L in one 12 hour hold feeding triplets at 6 weeks fresh in her first freshening. She’s a dream to milk. Jim’s dam is Furthur Kentucky Rye, who won Reserve Champion in the East Nationals in 2018. She has a stelllar mammary. Rosemary is a sturdy little goat with a good width between the thurls and a wide escutcheon. Rosemary’s sire is Potting Shed King Crab and this will be his first daughter to freshen for me. CEDAR GREEN MEADOW ROSE X POTTING SHED KING CRAB
DUE MARCH 25, 2022. 3F.

This is a repeat breeding of last year, which I liked the look of a lot. Rose kidded quads and I retained one of her daughters. She is too young to freshen yet but we like how she looks and repeated the breeding. Rose is one of the best does to be born on our farm. As a first freshener she produced 1.8lb of milk in an 12 hour hold at 6 weeks fresh. Her teat size is excellent for hand milking. She milks out quickly and easily. She has good longevity of production, and I am still milking her 9 months later. She has good conformation with a nice, level top line, good brisket and depth of chest. She has a wide escutcheon and good rear and fore attachments. I think she will be a powerhouse producer for me this freshening! She has clearly taken her dam Pearl’s conformation and her sire Jim’s genetics for both capacity and teat size. She has been bred to King. His sire is an imported buck from Rosasharn Farm in the US, a well known and reputable breeder for high capacity, high quality dairy goats. His paternal granddam, Rosasharn Kujira, milked 1510 lb in 305 days in her 6th freshening! At 8 years of age she LA’d EEEE91. The combination of capacity, even in her older age, and her LA score makes these genetics stunning. King’s dam is Potting Shed Harlequin, who has lovely conformation and capacity. Expect kids from this breeding to put milk in the bucket. Watch a video of Rose being milked here. Kids will be $900.
