BREEDING SCHEDULE

CEDAR GREEN LUCY LIU X CURL CREEK EARL

DUE JANUARY 28, 2022. First Freshener. Blue Eyes Possible.

Lucy is a Caramel daughter. She is a first freshening, smaller doe with nice width and I am looking forward to seeing if she develops her dam’s lovely, well-attached udder and large, easy to milk teats. Earl is a strong, level, long buck from Curl Creek.
Curl Creek Earl is a nice looking, long, level buck with blue eyes. . His sire, Castle Rock Black Oak EX93, is from amazing dairy genetics from the US. Black Oak’s dam, Castle Rock Sarafina, is a stunning doe who is a finished Grand Champion. She LA’d EEEE 92. At only 2 years of age, she produced 1100 lbs of milk in 305 days, landing her a spot on the ADGA and AGS top 10 in 2011. The following year she produced an incredible 8.2 lbs on a one day milk test. Earl’s dam, Curl Creek Sweet Harmony is a lovely milker with lots of capacity and a nice teat size. Earl is blue eyed. CEDAR GREEN JB MIDNIGHT BLUE X POTTING SHED KING CRAB
DUE FEBRUARY 15, 2022. FIRST FRESHENER, BLUE EYES POSSIBLE

This will be a first freshening for Midnight Blue. Blue is a smaller, long bodied doe with nice width in the rear thanks to her sire, Jim Beam. She is my third retained Jim Beam daughter to freshen and we are very excited to see her freshen. Her dam, Cedar Green Poppy, kidded with triplets and then her production crashed with a bad bout of milk fever, so I have no udder pictures to share of her, or any capacity amounts. Potting Shed King Crab is a strong, gorgeous buck. He has produced some nice looking kids this past spring. His sire is an imported buck from Rosasharn Farm in the US, a well known and reputable breeder for high capacity, high quality dairy goats. His paternal granddam, Rosasharn Kujira, milked 1510 lb in 305 days in her 6th freshening! At 8 years of age she LA’d EEEE91. The combination of capacity, even in her older age, and her LA score makes these genetics stunning. King’s dam is Potting Shed Harlequin, who has lovely conformation and capacity. Kids will be $700

POTTING SHED PEARL X FURTHER JIM BEAM
DUE MARCH 8, 2022. 5F

This breeding produced Cedar Green Meadow Rose. So I repeated it. End of story. 🙂 In all seriousness, the combination of Pearl’s correct conformation and Jim’s ability to add major capacity and improve teat size made it an easy decision to re do this breeding. Rose produced 1.5L in one 12 hour hold feeding triplets at 6 weeks fresh in her first freshening. She’s a dream to milk. She’s also very correct in her conformation with a lovely deep chest, level top line, and good brisket. She has strong rear and front attachments, and a wide escutcheon. Jim’s dam is Furthur Kentucky Rye, who won Reserve Champion in the East Nationals in 2018. She has a stellar mammary, and beautiful conformation. Pearl herself is a perfect little package with socked on mammary, excellent teat placement, and good conformation. We have had good success in improving the teat size and production in her offspring by selecting the right buck. Hoping for good things from this re breeding! Kids will be $800.

CEDAR GREEN MEADOW ROSE X POTTING SHED KING CRAB
DUE MARCH 25, 2022. 3F.

This is a repeat breeding of last year, which I liked the look of a lot. Rose kidded quads and I retained one of her daughters. She is too young to freshen yet but we like how she looks and repeated the breeding. Rose is one of the best does to be born on our farm. As a first freshener she produced 1.8lb of milk in an 12 hour hold at 6 weeks fresh. Her teat size is excellent for hand milking. She milks out quickly and easily. She has good longevity of production, and I am still milking her 9 months later. She has good conformation with a nice, level top line, good brisket and depth of chest. She has a wide escutcheon and good rear and fore attachments. I think she will be a powerhouse producer for me this freshening! She has clearly taken her dam Pearl’s conformation and her sire Jim’s genetics for both capacity and teat size. She has been bred to King. Expect kids from this breeding to put milk in the bucket. Watch a video of Rose being milked here. Kids will be $900.
